Reza Satchu is an East African-born serial entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder and managing partner of Alignvest Management Corporation, a senior lecturer at Harvard Business School, and a director of Trilogy International Partners. He graduated from Harvard Business School with a Masters of Business Administration in 1996. In Toronto, he began his career as a financial analyst for Merrill Lynch, where he focused on structuring and executing high yield debt offerings. In 1998, he became a General Partner of Fenway Partners, a private equity firm with more than $1.5 billion in assets.
In 1991, Reza graduated from McGill University. After graduation, he called a Canadian who was working at Merrill Lynch in New York. He told him that he could get a job with him. He lied about his work visa status and drove overnight to New York to meet him. After meeting with Stan O’Neal, he landed a job in Merrill Lynch’s High Yield Group under the guidance of his mentor, Stan O’Neal.
